Cenote Taj Mahal is one of the dives you must do while visiting the Riviera Maya. Guided Cavern dives take you down a string of light zones giving a dazzling underwater laser-like show as you cross 4 different cenotes. This dive site is a favorite for guides and customers alike who are constantly returning to see the changes in the dive as the seasons change (due to the angle of the sun). Haloclines in the deeper areas make interesting mirror like effects as divers penetrate into the layer of saltwater below the fresh. Keep your eyes open during this dive as it is decorated with stalagmites and stalactites. In addition you will find many shell and coral fossils amongst the rocks.

Some of the top parts of the cave system are a spectacular circuit on the downstream side. Mainline into the Jumma River, to Cenote Buena Vista, downstream to Room of Cheers and Cenote Sagrado. Other spots include the City of Agre room, Cenote Nachich and upstream beyond the cavern area to the Chinese Garden. This is a more advanced snorkeling area spectacular shows of light can be seen very near the entrance. It can be reached 26 km south of Playa del Carmen / 5 km south of Puerto Aventuras.

The cenote Taj-Mahal is located 26km//16miles south of Playa del Carmen. This cenote is part of the same cavern system of Chac-Mool. On sunny days you may be witness to a spectacular light show. In the center of the cenote there's a hole, which is located in the heart of the jungle (diameter 10m/30ft) and divers surface here to admire the beautiful Mexican jungle.
