Already popular dive destinations mentioned on this website are the Mayan Riviera with Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and the Cenotes next to the Great Mesoamerican Reef. Acapulco, Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo and Puerto Vallarta are popular destinations on the Pacific Coast. And Los Cabos with La Paz, Cabo Pulmo and Cabo San Lucas have been world renowned holiday resorts for many years now with some of the best diving just offshore. However, there are many other locations with stunning dive sites and an amazing underwater world.
One of the best area are the volcanic Socorro Islands that can only be reached from Los Cabos or the Mexican West Coast by liveaboard since they are located in the Pacific. Marine life is splendid here and many compare it with the Galapagos because of its remoteness where time has stood still.
